There's been a lot of buzz today for Kevin Smith's return to Batman with the story titled Widening Gyre...

I really hope it's better than Cachophony... I love Kevin Smith's work but I wasn't a big fan of that run...

I liked Cacaphony. Different, but so is Kevin Smith. Given, it wasn't even close to his Green Arrow or Daredevil days, but those were monthlies.

Some friends of mine saw him live on stage, and he talked about writing Batman. He said he had thrown away several rough drafts and didn't think it was good until he wrote it with the help of marijuana........that may explain the fall-off.

That said, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

I've really enjoyed the run so far. Issue #3 wasn't the best, it read like an episode of Love Island but the new guy and some of the flashbacks have been really great to read.

Fingers crossed it carries on like it has.
