| I was asked recently what my favourite moments were and I could not think of them. There's been so many!
Is it Batman having his back broken? The first appearance of the Joker? No Man's Land? The Arkham Asylum? The insanity that was Zur En Arhh? Batman making pancakes?
My question to you guys is what's your top 5 moments of all time and why. |

| SO hard! I'm going to have to come back with some more, but for me, one moment sticks out; Bane breaking Batman's back. There have been tons of other big moments, but I have to agree with Andrew; that was one of the ones that re-shaped Batman's world. I can agree with Death in the Family and Killing Joke (although I haven't read either, I know the story points), but Final Crisis is borderline and "What Happened to the Caped Crusader" isn't top 5 at all for me. But I can't come up with anything better just yet, so I guess I can't really say anything lol.
I'll have to come back for this one. But, for now (in no particular order);
1. Bane "breaking" Batman 2. Robin (Jason Todd) dying 3. Joker Shooting Babs |

| Oh so many to choose from but my top 5 are:
#1 Bane breaking Batman's back #2 The First appearance of AzBats costume in #500 #3 The Death of Jason Todd #4 Killing Joke #5 Seeing the New Batman and Robin together last year
I can keep going lol
#6 Robin #1 - Seeing the Red Bird car for the first time. #7 JL Identity Crisis - Zatanna blanking Batman's mind creating his distrust for the superhero community #8 Bruce Wayne's return after Knightsend #9 Dick Grayson putting on the Batman costume during Prodigal #10 Knightwing's new costume and ongoing series
Oh and the Ninja Man-Bat's Grant Morrison created were awesome lol _________________ "It's not who I am underneath... but what I do that defines me." - Batman Begins...

| I realize my problem; I was trying to think of the biggest Batman moments, in regards to "game changers", rather than my FAVORITE moments. That makes it a bit different lol.

| I would say from Identity Crisis......as Batman & Robin are racing to try and save Robin's Dad, when Robin turns to Batman and Batman's face is showing fear......makes me teary-eyed everytime. |

| Batman torturing scarecrow in front of the joker (storyarc heart of hush)
I think this is a great batman moment. It shows how much Bruce cares about Selina and how far he would go to save a life. Furthermore Joker's dialog in that sequence is brilliantly written by Paul Dini (as is the whole Heart of hush storyarc). |

You realy should read Hush from Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee and then read the sequel Heart of Hush from Paul Dini and Dustin Nguyen.
Also Hush (from Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee) was released as Hush vol1 and Hush vol2. DONT get that. There is a trade paperback that encompasses both volumes. I find this to be the perfect reading experience.
Furthermore if you can wait, dc is releasing Hush in the oversized deluxe format, which is cool considering jim lee did the art. |

| I know a bit about the story, and I remember when it was coming out I saw some of the art of the Jason Todd "Hush" action figure and whatnot, it looked really cool.

Honestly, it's not as bad as some say but I don't think it's all that. Stunning art, but once you know Hush is the obvious person instead of someone more interesting, it's a little deflating. |

| I have my own five favorite moments not really in order but
Batman Year One-Batman blowing the wall down on the rich making it clear that they are all going to be held accountable for their actions.
The Dark Knight Returns-The whole sequence where Bruce's Batman side speaks to him, the bat flying through the window and the tv reports of Batman sightings is a moment that I will not forget.
Batman RIP-The last issue is something that took my breath away Batman rising from the grave fighting the guy who had been causing him so much trouble and the last pages with Le Bossu being interrupted by Dick and Damian and the one page recap origin are some of the best things in recent memory.
War on Crime-The sequence where Batman talks to a boy who had been orphaned who is holding a gun at him and confessing a tragedy happened to him as well and the kid dropping the gun says so much about Batman.
There is no Hope in Crime Alley-Says who Batman is so much as well and was translated into one of the best episodes of Batman:The Animated Series. |

| Hey folks
New to the board, so should say hi first ... been a massive Batman fan all my life, and this seems like a fine place to talk stuff
Nice topic too, so figured I'd get involved:
Top 5 ever Batman moments? that's a toughie ... but here are my shouts:
1) The Killing Joke ... the crazed look in Joker's eyes when Barbarra just opens the door and the gun's pointed at her
2) Death in the Family ... the iconic image of Batman on his knees, cradling a dead Jason Todd
3) Batman City of Crime ... the whole sequence in the hospital with Gordon, the witness, Robin and his Scarface hallucinations (that's when I finally came round to Tim Drake as being alright)
4) Hush ... (what we think is) the final fight in the cemetary, and the reveal is Jason Todd. (Although it wasn't really, but we then knew that he was gonna be back)
5) Batman The Cult ... (one of the lesser referenced Batman stories, but one of the best IMO) ... when Bruce is fighting Deacon Blackfire and enjoying beating him down, as revenge for breaking him ... first time i really saw just how unhinged Batman could be in the "heat of the fight"
but you know what guys? there are just so many more I could come up with ... and I didn't even touch on any of Grant Morrison's stuff! |
