I am not the biggest Batman Beyond fan while I enjoyed the series years ago the whole concept began to feel more like an attempt at Spider-Man and not Batman but I am willing to see it for a concept that could be good like many I did enjoy Batman Beyond Return of the Joker.

One of the things I liked was the way the villains felt like older Batman gimmick villains a goth halloween kid a human Hyena hybrid maybe some of them were a little to Joker themed they seemed to be the most popular villains. So when I saw them in Batman #700 I got to thinking it looked like it could be cool. The interesting thing was Damian watching over Terry in some ways so much of Batman Beyond was Bruce and Terry and it is interesting to see how much can a concept be reinterpreted but stay the same similar to Batman Incorporated.

It makes me wonder what a world of Damian watching over Terry would be like Damian is not a Batman well respected nor would he be Terry's father but he did save him when he was an infant also being in a different DCU it would have different mythology even the fact that there may or may not be Batman Incorporated around.

It seems that the new Batman Beyond series in 2011 is set in the DCAU inspired canon following the mini it may cause some continuity problems but would anyone be curious about seeing the other version of Batman Beyond with Damian Wayne as the mentor in the regular DCU?

I would love to see a Batman Beyond series based in that universe. I thought the idea of Damian training Terry was kind of cool, and it took me by surprise in Batman 700. I forget if it was mentioned in 700, but it would be cool to see how Damion and Terry meet up and become partners, and to see how different that would be from when Terry and Bruce met.

It might just be because I loved the show, but I wouldn't want to have the series set in that universe...I'm very happy to finally have Bruce and Terry back, and I am actually kinda irritated that they even showed us that future with Damien and Terry because then they made the new Beyond series in a different earth/continuity. I feel like it should be the other way around...Damien/Terry Beyond should be the alternate universe, and Bruce/Terry Beyond should be in Earth 0. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we're getting a Batman Beyond series and I'd be willing to see more of that Damien/Terry Beyond, but I'm glad the ongoing is Bruce/Terry.

I agree that the main sereis coming out should be with Bruce and Terry, but it would be cool to have another series, maybe just a limited one, with Damian and Terry.

I think it actually makes sense the way they have the two universes set up. I'm glad that the monthly series is going to be set in the DCAU, and since that is not in continuity with the main comic universe, it made sesne to me that the Daimain and Terry story, would be set in Earth 0.

Yeah, I would like to see Damien & Terry explored, and even Damien's career as Batman (as shown in #700). I think it'd be neat to see those.

Yeah, I understand why they did it and it makes sense, but I guess I'm just kinda disappointed that all the DC animated stuff (which I really love), especially Beyond because it's could easily be the future of New Earth, isn't canon. It feels like they're basically saying that stuff doesn't really matter that much, because it's on an alternate Earth. Which I know they're not, but still...just kinda upsetting.

I'm with you on the DCAU. I actually prefer it over the comic's continuity, except for the fact that Hal Jordan is not part of it, but since there are some big differences with the two universes, I never really expected them to put Batman Beyond in the main comics continuity. Which is why I guess it doesn't really bother me that much, that the Damian and Terry story is in the main continuity.

Yeah...it really shouldn't bother me, because it makes total sense, but I think just as a big fan I was originally a little disappointed. But overall I'm happy we're getting it at all!

I am relieved that the DCAU is not canon there are some things that happened particularly in Justice League that while they are good television stories would not make the DCU bigger and may hurt or limit it.

I would take Damien over Terry any day. Damien is from comics and Terry is from a TV series that change history of the Batman Universe.

In my opinion, Terry should not be part of the regular Batman universe from comics for serveral reasons:
- Takes away Dick or Damien being the Batman in future. Yes they mention Dick and Tim but not the proper way in my book. Tim wasn't even Robin anymore to kill Joker. Tim is Red Robin now and not working with Bruce Wayne. Bruce Wayne works alone or with Catwoman now in comics which is good.
- Pretty much makes Bruce a broken man that didn't accomplish what he wanted with himself or his regular partners that he had to deal with a clone taking over the mantle. Pretty much Batman INC and Batman family is out the window for Beyond series.
- If we were to go by Batman Beyond: Selina Kyle and Bruce won't have a happy ending. I know its hard to see them with happy ending but come on DC. To make a bleak future for such a great hero is horrible.
- Oh and Barbera Gordon is Commissoner and can walk? This right here puts it in conflict with the comic book version of character. Oracle is crippled and may even get killed in one of the future comic book issues if I am reading it right. So how can she become Commissoner?

Did I like the Batman beyond show for what is was yes. It was entertaining but it didn't put Bruce in good light. The show had crazy story as well how Terrry came about. Since Amanda Waller in comics hates and detests all Justice League members even normal human ones. To make a evil character that works with Luther and torturing other humans in experiments getting a good farewell on the last show Justice League Unlimited is sad.

Hopefully Young Justice won't further destroy Comic storyline of Batman. I am getting worried right now that they already put Dick Grayson with this other team when he was younger. In comics, Dick Grayson was with Bruce most of his career until he left from what I know. But I can be wrong with all the changes with Teen Titans and so forth.
