Batman vs. Spiderman ... which one is more awesome?

I've been having this dispute that I've won before ... yet it found its way back to life magically... and instead of going through all the way defending Batman again (even though he doesn't need to be defended) against spider douche ...

Batman has absolutely no superpowers ... he just chose to put the money inherited from his parents to good use to help those in need of help .. and to save those who need saving... and he chose to do so on his own .. even though he could have used his money to have a city of his own somewhere and live in reclusion peacefully and let everyone in Gotham kill each others.

Spiderdouche however ... he's got superpowers .. so even if he didn't help people of NY, and spent his time climbing to the girl's locker room instead. He'd eventually get tired of it and think of saving people (unlike batman who wanted to do so from the start) ... Besides ... he take pictures of himself and sells them to the newspaper he's working in ... That shows that he's got some serious issues .___.

So please help with this ... and choose which one is better (BATMAN) ... (You'd choose batman if you've watched Dark Knight :] )

I know the movies aren't as good as the comics ... but can you still help me with this?

I choose BATMAN all day long! Screw Spidey...he doesn't have jack sh** on Batman. Old Brucey gained his abilities through hard work, determination, years and years of training and the will to succeed. Not some stupid radioactive spider bite. All Hail Batman!

This will always be a never-ending debate. In my opinion, you should not use the existing feature films to compare which character is better. Both characters originated from comic books and if there should be any comparison at all, it should be from the comic book medium.

As for which superhero is better, it all depends on how much you can relate to that particular character. I for one relate better to Batman. Reason being, I love crime/detective stories. So, Batman being the world's greatest detective greatly appeals to me.

To be honest, when I was a teenager growing up in a working class neighborhood, I could identify more with Spider-Man. But as I grew older, I began to look for stuff that are a little more realistic and that's when I became fascinated with the whole Batman Universe.

ahhhh! I'm torn - I will always be 100% Batman, but I also think Spider-Man as a concept is fascinating. Your right Andrew I identified with Spider-Man was I was a teen but some of his early classic stuff is just well... amazing.

I was all about Batman as a boy because of the Burton (and yes, even through Kilmer/Clooney flicks) until when I was 16-ish and the first Spider-Man movie was coming out. Then Smallville came out, and I was back to the DC side of things...Yeah lol.

But seriously, the universe that has Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, and Jean Paul Valley wins for me any day!

Well you posted this in movies, so one could compare the movie franchises. Nolan's Batman is way better than Raimi's Spider-Man

I have to agree, GothamGirl. I did throughly enjoy Spider-Man 1 & 2, though. But the new Nolan/Bale Batman series is better (so long as they don't supremely mess up the third film ala Spider-Man).
