| The Blackest Night will show heroes return from the dead. Though details are few and far between, it seems from the preview at Newsarama (http://www.newsarama.com/comics/030919-Blackest-Night-Preview.html) that Bruce (Batman?) is officially buried and we are seeing reactions (Hal and Barry) from other heroes than the Bat-Family
When The Blackest Night hits the fan and Martian Manhunter et al. rise from the grave, won't it be a bit suspect that Batman isn't a Black Lantern?
I figure, if well written, this could be the first indications to the DCU that maybe Bruce is not as dead as they thought....and this may be the begining of the search for Bruce Wayne...
NOTE: Man...Geoff STILL hates Batman... |

| On the whole I think DC made a smart move with not killing Bruce off in FC and then teasing everyone that he's lost in time (or where ever he may be). This prevented Geoff Johns from getting his hands on Batman and turning him into a Black Lantern and becoming all villainous.
This would have killed the Batman legacy seeing Bruce do evil after saving the world from Darkseid.

| I agree with JonDoe on Bruce's Legacy being destroyed by a "Black Lantern" transformation.....However, it could have been a great way to bring him back....The Dark Knight mastering the dark forces, etc.
If we go way back to the "Our World's at War" storyline & give Grant Morrison an opportunity to be crazy....the Imperiex/Brainiac taken back to the big bang could be used somehow to bring him back (I know what You're thinking....just trying to go way out of the box...). Or, the new/old Flash's "Cosmic Treadmill". Or, Bruce finds Prince Khufu in Egypt and they timewarp to present day......ok, but it worked for the Enterprise! Or, Zatanna.....etc. etc. etc.
Point is....BRUCE IS COMING BACK!!!!!!!

Welcome to the boards... the only thing I'm getting concerned about now is how early they are brining Bruce back. I am currently enjoying Dick Grayson under the cowl and would love to see him progress into a really great Batman. After speaking with Mike Marts and the interview Dan Didio, who has mentioned his return a number of time in 2010... Its to soon, keep teasing the fans... make us wait lol
They have the potential for the ultimate Batman story, I just hope they don't rush it.

| I agree that they shouldn't rush it either......although I know Bruce is coming back, they should give Grayson at least a year of issues to prove his mettle. Sales are great, new titles are developing well, plus die-hard Bruce-only fans can still read Superman/Batman & Batman Confidential to get their fix until the eventual return.
If they bring Wayne back too quickly they will leave Grayson "hanging". His city is a radioactive wasteland, so he would have to operate in Gotham, going from Nightwing to Batman back to Nightwing would kinda be like going from the major leagues back to AAA, and I like Grayson/Damian alot more than I think I would Bruce/Damian.
On the other hand, if they kept Grayson as is, brought Bruce back as his "darker" self working alone.....there could be TWO Batmans!! Just kidding......they would have to make the Batcave larger, Alfred would never get any sleep, etc. lol
Seriously though, they should at least let Grayson scuff up his new boots a little.....

| Good show, I was just about to do the same thing myself (although I had no idea how) lol. And I was just thinking we were getting some new Batman fans to chat with :-(.
