Its been rumored that Warner Bros. and DC Comics are going to do the 3rd installment of Batman, which at the moment has been dubbed the name "Batman: The Caped Crusader". Its supposed to be starring Christian Bale (Batman) and Johnny Depp as Riddler. Now Johnny Depp was recently on a FM Talk Show and basically said something about being on/accepted the role, although Warner Bros. isnt confirming anything. Also, according to IGN's page, Dent might also be coming back into the movie... Opinions People?

I'm sorry Mr. Vulture, but I have to disagree with you about Depp. I think he's one of the most overrated actors alive. He's good for the little quirky roles he does, but I hate all of the movies he does those characters in so I don't like them lol. Then again, he might be good for a quirky Riddler, but I'd rather just have Jim Carrey again if they were going that route. Hopefully they won't, and they'll go with a darker version of the character (if they use it).

Dent might come back too, and I wouldn't be too upset if they brought him back. I think sometime after TDK was released Ekhart said that originally he was supposed to stay dead and the Joker was going to be heavily featured in the third film, but since Heath died they might be reconsidering and bringing Dent back to play a role in the flick. I'd be interested to see him back...and it would be very comic-esque to have him return after seemingly fall to his death.
And I hope he does another Terminator too! Since a new company has the rights now, it doesn't seem likely...but if they're smart they'll make another movie with Bale and find a way to bring Worthington's chraracter back since he's king of the world after Avatar.

I think I read somewhere that they plan on basically rebooting Terminator since someone else got the rights. To be honest, I really think they didn't plan it too well. TSCC and the T4 writers got together to make sure that nothing major was conflicting, but I really feel like they should've played into each other more. I really like Summer Glau too, and one of the big shames of that show being cancelled is that they never got a chance to explain what was up with her "unique" model of Terminator, and we never got to see the 3rd season where she would have been able to play a normal human. I think a flashback with Dekker's young Connor would be great, as would a scene with Glau's new terminator model. Plus, they really dropped the ball; they should have cross promoted the movie and TV show that spring, really could've helped out both of 'em. But oh well...

Haha I can't blame you. He's not my favorite by any stretch of the imagination, I was just exxagerating a bit to make my point. Which is, that I don't want to see a goofy Riddler like Carrey/some of Depp's strange characters in Nolan's films (or any future films, for that matter). But you're right, if he does a serious, dark 9th Gate/Secret Window (awesome flicks btw) performance as Nygma, I could dig it. I just think Depp is seriously overrated (mostly due to Pirates and his work with the also overrated Tim Burton), and stand by it on principle (though he does have some serious acting chops).

Yeah, we've been getting a lot of spammers lately. They copy posts from other genre websites (if you copy the text from their posts and google 'em, you can find where they took it from) and post them here, with two links to spam sites beneath them. Kinda annoying, but they do stir up some good conversations sometimes lol.

See I think Depp would make a good Riddler especially if you look at Brian Azzarello's Riddler from Joker graphic Novel, he looks like Depp and I think he can pull it off. Secret Window style.

Either than Catwoman needs to make an appearance and use Batman: Year One approch. I know she's everywhere but Angelina Jolie would make the perfect Catwoman.

After having discussed this quite a bit, and thinking about it for a while now, I think I agree with you both; they could be good for the roles. I wonder where Nolan's going to go with it now, since his Joker's gone.

I agree somewhat with Halle Berry, but after her Non-DC-Cannon Catwoman flick I doubt she'd be used in any post-Shumacher DC film, much less the Nolan Batman films.

I have to disagree with you about the Penguin though. If they were going the same route as Burton's Danny Devito Penguin, then yes, but the character doesn't have to be that way. I remember before anything was known about Dark Knight rumors were swirling around about Phillip Seymour Hoffman playing the Penguin, but as basically a classy underground weapons-dealer with a monacle (Maybe a big nose or something, but nothing crazy like Devito's). I think it could be neat, if pulled off that way.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman would be amazing as Penguin and giving his that slight deformatty as a birdman with the monacle. Black Mask would be to over the top but after Nolan's run and handing over to someone else - then yeah Black Mask all the way.

As long as they don't drag out Black Mask and put him in every DC movie like they did for a while there with the Bat Titles.

Hahaha, I was just going to say that if you didn't, now that she's out of one of the biggest franchises ever she has the time on her hands lol. Yeah, I think she could maybe do it. Not the best actress, but goodness is she nice to look at!

In terms of looks and physique, she fits the role but in terms of acting abilities, I seriously doubt she'll be able to pull off a convincing Catwoman/Selina Kyle.

Megan fox is hot but she has close to zero acting ability. I would like to see someone else as catwoman, maybe that chick from hitman, but without the accent.

That is true; Megan looks a bit young. Plus, if what's come out about her with Transformers is true, she's pretty hard to work with. Personally, I don't like Jolie, so I wouldn't want to see her as Catwoman; but she wouldn't be the worst choice, I suppose.

Awesome idea - David Tennant would make a fantastic Riddler...

Whatever happened to jonny depp playing the riddler? I think he'd do a good job. He's great at creating these offbeat crazy characters but somehow in a completly relatable way(scissor hands, jack sparrow).

It's all just rumor at this point, Sergio, we're all just kinda discussing the possibilities. Though Depp has been one of the big rumors going around since right after TDK came out.
