You may have seen something like this before if you frequent other forums; it's basically just a place for anybody to mention what song/album/whatever they're currently listening to/have been listening to recently. It can be as simple as "I'm listening to Elvis" to a full fledged review/discussion starter about that band/album/song if you want. It's fun to do, because then not only does everyone else on the forum know a bit about what you're into, but you can introduce people to music you really like so it gains more fans or even discuss the show with other fans on the forum!
So, the big question is; What ARE you listening to right now?
-Gary

Again, I'll start; I just listened to "American Trilogy" by Elvis Presley. The song has a special place for me, 'cause my Dad was a huge fan of the King and I played it at his funeral in 2007. Also, coincidentally, it was reportedly the last song Elvis ever played, on his piano, the night he died. Plus it's Elvis; so it's just awesome.

The Batman: Arkham Asylum soundtrack - I've usually got some film soundtrack playing in the background. I've collected film scores for about 15 years now.

I guess they're still around. I heard one of their songs on a movie a few weeks ago and it stuck in my head. And then I remembered some songs of theirs that I used to really like.

Now that I think of it I believe it was from that second Van Wilder movie. Came on Comedy Central and I'm pretty sure that's where I heard one of their songs. Movie is pretty dumb though but I guess it's a fairly new movie. Not sure.

I never saw that one, because Ryan Reynolds only had a short cameo in it and it was mostly the guy from Harold and Kumar, and I had no interest lol. But the Offspring is legit, good to hear they're still around.

I love a lot of racing games' and GTA soundtracks. My favorite racing series is Midnight Club, but I haven't played many others. I love the Midnight Club LA soundtrack though.

It's like underground racing. I've never seen it, but I hear it's kinda like Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (the Movie). It has a bunch of different music, and you can select if you want just techno, just rap/r&b, just rock, or all mixed. It has all different types of cars, trucks, bikes and whatnot, like most racing games. I just really liked the first one I played for PS2, so I've stuck with it. I'm sure Need for Speed is good though, and I think Grand Turismo 5 looks killer!

That is a good one! I like "On to the next" or whatever the name is. I know that's one of the main lines in the song haha.

It really does. At first I thought it was kinda boring, but then it really grew on me a lot.
I've been listening to podcasts a lot lately (trying to catch up on my favorite shows), but today I listened to Fort Minor's "The Rising Tied". For those who don't know, Fort Minor is the MC from Linkin Park, Mike Shinoda. He's really good at mixing in awesome samples, rock & roll, both meaningful and pop-culture lyrics, and a good beat as well.

Today, for some reason I've been listening a lot to the album "Resistance" by the band Muse. It's got a cool mix of sounds that I enjoy. I especially like the title track, but I'm currently listening through the whole album, and I like it all. One thing you definitely can't say about Muse is that all of their songs sound the same; they have a very neat style.

I've been listening to a lot of Wizard and Velvet Davenport. Wizard's only have an EP right now, and it's free to download.
Spinning Flowers EP of the Wizards. You can get it here if you like instrumental music. I do, it's pretty chill. Only 6 good songs, I really enjoyed it. The site's safe, so don't worry about any mal-ware. I'm not letting my computer crash ever again. Ugh.. Anyways the link to that EP: http://whizards.bandcamp.com/album/spinning-flowers-ep
And speaking of instrumental, does anyone ever buy the OST's to old SNES/NES/N64 games? I pulled out my old SNES and started playing Donkey Kong Country 2 and forgot how good the music and gameplay is. Man.. I missed it. So I have been listening to that. Hah. Feel like I should be holding a controller when I listen to it.

I'll have to check some of that stuff out, seems pretty cool.

Haha, me too.
Lately I've been listening to 2 things; either Linkin Park's newest record "A Thousand Suns" (which I love to death) or Christmas music, since it's about that time of year. I'm a major Christmas nut, so yeah...

You should! I have yet to burn myself out of that EP, and that is saying something! Haha.
My graphics teacher plays music in the classroom, and out of 4 happy years, I am tired of the Beatles and early Christmas music... Then the Beatles's Christmas song came on, one day. Ugh.. Oh well. It's good music nonetheless.
LP is dead to me after Meteora. They have changed, but that's what happens to a band when they mature I suppose... Is their new album recommendable?

I think so, yeah - and a lot of people like it. I can't blame you; I liked a song or two on their last album, but I hated that they went straight rock; they cut out all the stuff that made them unique. But now they're closer to their old stuff, but they experiment with some new sounds too. If you haven't heard it yet, I put the first single from their new album below; the video looks pretty cool too...
As someone who knows old school LP, I'm really interested to hear what you think of their new stuff. All I can say is, I love it 100% more than the last one.

I'm mainly just a Rock kind of guy. But do like a lot of different bands. Lately, I've been listening to a lot of Weezer and Deftones. I just saw those two bands in concert recently, and those were some of the best shows I've ever been to.
As for Linkin Park's last album, I have to disagree with you Gary. I really didn't like it. There was really only two songs I liked on it, "Waiting for the End, and "Blackout". There were a lot of wasted tracks to me, where it was just 40 seconds of noise. Linkin Park is one of my favorite bands, and i give them credit for trying something different with this album, but I just couldn't get into it.

Well, I can't really blame you; it's a bit different from them, and very different from their last album, so I can see why it might be off putting. Do you like the last album more? I liked some of the stuff on Minutes to Midnight, but I felt like it was kinda missing something. For the most part, I'm just happy there's more rap and whatnot on it, although I do like Mike's singing that he's started doing now too. I guess if I just had to narrow it down to the ones I really like, it'd be "Burning in the Skies", "When they Come for Me", "Waiting for the End", "Wretches and Kings", and "The Catalyst". The rest are softer songs or, like you said, just instrumentals or parts of speeches. You probably wouldn't like it if you didn't like most of the songs, but the iTunes version I got had "A Thousand Suns: The Full Experience", which puts it all together and it flows as one long, seamless song basically - and you kinda understand a bit more of what they were trying to do. For me, it wasn't Hybrid Theory or Meteoroa...but I still liked it. And I think overall I like the newer stuff over Minutes to Midnight (but I liked that, too). I feel like it was closer to their old stuff than M2M was. What did you think of "New Divide" off the Transformers 2 Soundtrack?
Oh, and agreed with Weezer and Deftones...haven't seen them live, but I dig their stuff.
