| I was looking at the cover of 16 http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_JAI1GFOj2JM/TBaBuC2gZvI/AAAAAAAABXo/nqdrKJ26kFc/s1600/bnr16_solicit.jpgI am a giant Morrison fan & am excited for the next arc. Do you think this cover means that the next game changing changge morrison spoke of is that there will be 2 batmans? I myself hope Bruce gives Dick a year but if not I wonder if Damion will go with Bruce or Dick. DIck has been such a great influence on Damion I hope he goes with him. I am intrigued by the idea of Morrison being around for 2 more years and making Bruce a charachter. My dream would be to have Dick take on Batman pernamentaly with Damion anything after this will be a let down. I agree we need a Damion Batman Minie or ongoing series. |

| Hey Nightwing,
I for one have been very much enjoying Grant Morrison's Batman and know that he has a vision for the character that won't be fully revealed until he completes the run. I believe that he has been given the charge to both take all that has come before him, make a unified mythos AND move it forward into the 21st century. Batman 700 was indicative of his approach, namely how do you solve the problem of a fictional character who is human NOT superhuman and therefore mortal yet will long survive all of us? How does one deal with "Time and the Batman"?

| I actually think it'd be a good idea to keep Dick as Batman, and have Bruce as support when needed If this happens, this would be a complete role reversal, with Dick the main hero and Bruce as backup
I think Damien would still remain Robin, but there could never be 2 Batmans
No matter how hard it is to grasp, fans need to accept changes because they'll come sooner or later
Comic books need to roll with the times, so by rennovating the Batman book, it keeps it fresh
Bruce can't remain Batman forever, so the change will come sooner or later
Batman is after all a symbol

| I do not oppose the idea of two batmen. We would have the Bruce batman in Gotham and Grayson Batman on the Jla. This could work and give Bruce more time to take care of Gotham. | |

| I agree that changes to the batman universe will eventually come. There are a few sinarios that I think could happen. 1. Bruce comes back but dies soon after leaving the cowl to dick. 2. Bruce doesn't die but still gives up the cowl. 3. Dick grayson dies and Bruce remains batman. 4. Bruce and dick both remain batmen. 5. The hulk arrives In Gotham and kills both Bruce and dick. I think the last one is least likely to happen (just a joke everyone!!). Through RIP to batman and robin to the return of Bruce Wayne Morrison hasn't let us down and there's no reason to think he will. As for what will happen next we can only guess. If there are two batmen it will only be for a short while. They'll have to choose who will wear the cowl. As for me I really wouldn't mind seeing dick grayson as batman for many years to come!! | |

| I'll admit I'm a little behind with the latest events ... I only really read Batman as tpbs but after RIP and the whole REBORN storylines, I've been hooked and been buying the import comics to catch up ... so forgive me if I've overlooked anything ...
BUT ... what with the whole events of Batman & Son, Batman RIP, Final Crisis, Return of Bruce Wayne, Reborn and so on ... I think its pretty clear that the Batman "universe" and status quo is gearing up for a major change
I might be wrong, but here's what I think could happen:
... Nightwing (Grayson) will remain as Batman ... but as one version - the media-friendly, PR-able, "good" Batman
... Damian will stay on as Robin ... but will be groomed by Bruce (see next point) to be the next Batman
... Bruce will return, but will not go back to being Batman day-to-day ... he will be more of a Yoda-type sensei to the Bat Clan, rooted in Wayne Mannor / The Batcave (but I bet will sometimes go back to wearing the cowl when certain storylines require it)
... Tim Drake will be the other Batman ... the international, Justice League-member but also the more covet, detective-like Batman ... along with Bruce, he too will train Damian
that's just my ten pence worth ... I'm probably way off the mark (lol)

| No mate, I dont think you're too far off what is likely to happen
But I can't see Tim being another Batman
But it's almost a lock that Grayson will remain Batman for a bit longer

| I hope so. I'd be disappointed if Grayson didn't get a bit more time as Batman. And, to be honest, I'd like to see Grayson become the full-time Batman someday.

| Right now grant morrison has control of the batman universe, so considering its him he might have some suprises in store for us. For me the best comics are the ones where you never see the ending coming! | |

| It might just be me, but I've got a horrible feeling Dick Grayson might end up dead?
I've re-read Batman #666 and there is that image of Damien over a dead Batman's body - I know this is a possible future, but with Bruce's return I know something big is on the horizon.

Knowing Grant Morrison, anything is possible. I have the same feeling that Dick Grayson will end up dead as well. In Batman #666, the dead Batman definitely cannot be Bruce Wayne, so it seems like Dick will be the one taking the fall. Tragic!

| It would be a big deal if they DID kill him off. Plus, it doesn't necessarily mean Grayson'll be gone forever; in just a few years we have had Superboy and Impulse come back, not to mention Hal Jordan and Barry Allen. And Martian Manhunter and Aquaman and all them. So yeah, you get my point hahaha

| As of now death means nothing in the DCU - don't get me wrong the whole Blackest Night was a brilliant idea, but if they keep killing heroes off and then just bring them back a few years later, it will get to the point when a death happens and readers just go - what ever he'll be back soon....
If Dick dies, it should mean something in the DCU... but we all know it will nnever happen...

Which is part of my argument for "real-time" aging in comics, in the Dick Grayson thread. -gary
