| It's a well known fact that batman has one of the, if not the best rogue gallery of any comic book character. So who are your top five favorite batman villains? Here are mine...
5. Dr. Simon Hurt - the man that brought batman to his knees.
4. Onomatopoeia - disturbing silent killer that was able to get batman to trust him.
3. The Red Hood(Jason Todd) - a former hero pushed to the edge, and batmans greatest failure.
2. Hush - the cruel master strategist, and Bruce Waynes childhood friend.
1. The Joker - the personification of psychotic evil. A man who stands as the exact opposite of batman. And the one who has caused him the most pain and misery.
I had alot of fun making this list, and I'd really like to see yours!

| I agree with both of your suggestions, but I would have to include Bane - a master strategist who did the unthinkable and wore Batman down, then bested him in physical combat, breaking his back.

-Gary Does it bother you that Bane never had another big moment after Knightfall?

-Gary I know fans like him in Secret Six but that doesn't seem like Bane he started so dangerous and lost it I think he needs to go back to that evil Doc Savage route. I do think allot of the more traditional villains need to be upgraded as well many people complain that new villains are getting the big stories but really the more recognizable ones have gotten to familiar and need to have their villainy recaptured.

| I would love to see a modern update of killer moth and mr. Freeze. Maybe with Paul Dini writing them. He has the ability to take old villains and make them new and ineresting, like firefly, zsasz, and poison ivy. | |

I think maybe Paul Dini should be left out he and the animated series crew had some hand in redefining them but now imitating Batman The Animated Series kind of cripples the creativity I think someone else who hasn't had that great a hand in making them should redo them. My mind goes to someone like Peter Milligan to remake some of the villains.

| The animated series came out like ten years ago. I was talking about the stuff he's written in the last two years. Like detective, streets of Gotham, and Gotham city sirens. You can't compare those characters to the ones from the cartoon. The resent comics deal with more adult themes. | |

Well I've heard this allot and even thought it myself when I read Detective but they feel like The Animated Series with a bit more allowed but I don't think he should be in charge of Batman villains anymore it seems like he has said all he could on them so I think they need someone else to use them in new and different ways.

| True, Alex, but that can be said about most any comic writer. Not that I really know, I don't read sirens/streets unless I have to for the site.

| I like all the villains! Everyone's picks are great, I think that's why Batman has the best Rogue's gallery in all of comics! (well, Spiderman's is pretty good as well)
I agree wholeheartedly on the Bane issue! I think the cheesy attempt to include him in the movies is what put him on the back-burner.....

You're probably right, I hadn't thought about that but it sounds true. They made him start real formidably, then there was the Bane in the much hated Shumacker films, and then Bane was suddenly not a big deal anymore. -Gary
