| At my library they have allot of Daredevil omnibuses and I have been checking them out and Daredevil is so much like Batman I am seeing shades of him all over the place and I don't know if the writers were aware of how similar the two of them are. Anyone else see a character that was similar to Batman maybe unintentionally?

| Thanks to Smallville I've noticed how similar Green Arrow and Batman can be in some ways.

| I've always thought Green Arrow was similar to Batman. Just carries a bow an arrow. | |

| He's actually very different ideologically; other than their similar pasts (billionaire parents dying, then they become superheroes) they really don't have as much in common in the comics. But, since they couldn't get Batman on Smallville they've shifted the character a bit to make him less about his liberal values and more about being a human hero who grounds the superpowered gang, which is their role in the comics as well.

| Gary is Correct!! The similarities end with the "rich kid" background & no superpowers. Especially the "new" direction for the Green Arrow! I'm a big G.A. fan, and I hope they continue on the path they are on. Sales are great for the G.A. reboot, with the Brightest Day tie-ins all over the place of course.....but I think G.A. can finally find his own niche.
I think that the comparisons between G.A. & Batman have hurt G.A.....if you have a choice between Batman & Green Arrow (IF they are essentially the same character), you'll choose Batman every time. I'm glad to see them bringing in magic and enchanted forests, and hopefully keeping true to his core character. | |
