| I know this is not a comic book but I feel it deserves a special mention. I got this book 2 years ago and in my opinion, this is definitely an indispensable Batman resource for me! Everything you need to know about the Batman Universe is in this book. This 400-page encyclopedia collects the rich history of Batman (1939 - 2007), which includes all major story arcs, the Bat-Family, Main and Supporting Characters, Weapons, Vehicles, Equipment and all the Gadgets. What made this book even more invaluable is that it includes comic artwork from some of the best Batman artists such as Jim Lee, Alan Grant, Norm Breyfogle and Jim Aparo. Robert Greenberger (the author) and the editorial guys at DC Comics deserve most of the credit for making this book available to all the Batman fans out there!

| Guys! I highly recommend you get this encyclopedia. For someone who does not have all the Batman comics, this book definitely helped me a lot.
If you can't find it in your local book store, I suggest you order it online on Amazon.com

| Yeah you convinced me, it is on my wish list at Amazon, gonna get it next month along with the DC Universe Encyclopedia. I also saw the Essential Superman Encyclopedia which I must have when it comes out. On top of that I gotta grab the Essential Wonder Woman Encyclopedia. What can I say I like Super Hero knowledge...lol |

| Hahaha, I can't blame you. I'd totally do the same if I wasn't going to a private university and had no money whatsoever...I love learning new things about the universe(s) in DC. Heck, even Marvel. I gotta admit, if keeping up with DC wasn't so much work, I'd totally try to keep up with some Marvel too. But I don't have a whole lotta time, so, you know, I prioritize lol. The universe that has Superman and Batman is the one for me! | |

| I own the DC Encyclopedia, and it has been informative and I use it to check little known character appearances from time to time. Because of the re-structuring of the multiverse recently though, often the information......though expansive, is somewhat obsolete. | |

I know what you mean Mr. Vulture. Even 'The Essential Batman Encyclopedia' covers only up to the 'Batman & Son' story arc. Further than that, you would probably have to read the comics to keep yourself updated. But you have to admit that these books are really informative.

| This is possibly the best Batman book you'll ever own. This book never leaves my side. I've usually got it with me when I write my reviews and more recently doing the podcasts.
I've brought a second copy (so it can be carried around with me), I know its sad, but you never know when you need to refer to it when running a Batman website lol
